 Mike 's Specialties

While you can get an idea of the types of trading strategies we offer by reviewing this page, the information here is for informational purposes only, and therefore should be viewed as educational, not as actual recommendations. What we do is provide new and existing clients (account holders) with timely advice if adjustments to the trades are needed.

Options/Spreads Strategies Seasonal Spreads
Option Premium Selling Program Option & Spread Recommendations

We try to post a range of trades that are done by a number of our brokers for a number of clients. Account holders, however, have access to ALL our trade recommendations. Therefore, you should be aware that this page only encompasses a partial list of our trades.

Why should I trade options on futures?

While they may sound exotic, options on futures actually offer some unique advantages for investors and traders. Options on futures provide special margin leverage compared with stock options, and the ability to diversify across many markets (remember standard options trade only on stocks and stock indexes). There are other important benefits that options on futures offer if you know how to take advantage of them.

How do I receive your trade recommendations and how do they work?

All members who register with us receive our trades by e-mail when a trade is recommended. You can view past trade recommendations at a password protected page, once your register.

Will I receive trade signals every day?

No. You will not receive email from us every day. You usually only get email when we have a trade recommendation, or wish to share some trading related ideas, or invite you to an upcoming chat session (such as our weekly chat sessions). If you are not sure about the status of an open trade, or if there has been a recommendation that you think you may have missed, call us to make sure you get the latest updates.

What do you mean by option selling or option premium selling?

When you sell an option, you receive a credit (premium paid by the buyer) to your account. If the option expires worthless, the premium is retained as profit. By selling instead of buying options, time value decay becomes your ally, not your foe.

All customers of Commodity Futures Trading, Inc. receive access to our current and past option selling trade recommendations (ratio writes, ratio spreads, and bull and bear credit spreads), all of which are actual trades we execute for our clients and send to interested visitors. To learn more about the trading strategy we implement and follow for our clients, click on Options/Spreads Strategies Summary Table. (To learn more about this type of trading, visit our option premium selling program.)

How much experience is required to trade options on futures?

A basic options understanding is all you need to begin to be able to trade options on futures. Our company offers a full range of brokerage services that accommodate the level of experience of every individual client. (Through our association with Trader's Edge, Inc., we are now able to offer not only education about options on futures, but actual trade recommendations and broker-assisted trading.)
